Cavaliers' Irving to return Tuesday from shoulder strain

David Richard-USA TODAY Sports

The Cleveland Cavaliers won't be without All-Star Kyrie Irving for much longer.

Irving is set to return from a right shoulder strain for Tuesday's contest against the Boston Celtics

The point guard missed Cleveland's last contest - a seven-point loss to the Indiana Pacers - and will also be out for Sunday's game against the Houston Rockets. He suffered the injury in Thursday's win over the Golden State Warriors

Cleveland has gone 1-3 without Irving, who's averaging 21.7 points, 5.2 assists and shooting a career-best 40.4 percent from long range in his fourth season.

Matthew Dellavedova is likely to draw the start at point once again. He started Friday's loss to the Pacers, scoring 14 points on 5-of-18 shooting from the field, while adding 10 rebounds and five assists.

The Cavaliers are expected to have LeBron James in the lineup Sunday after the superstar sat out the team's last contest with back soreness.
