The Atlanta Hawks played without three of their starters on Saturday and nearly came up short of a victory.

The Miami Heat, paced by center Hassan Whiteside's ridiculous 14-point, 24-rebound performance, tried for a come from behind victory in the fourth quarter, but came up shy 93-91.

Without Al Horford, Pero Antic, Jeff Teague and DeMarre Carroll, the Hawks trotted out a half-filled lineup lined with deep-bench players. However, the strength of their system still pushed Atlanta to an 11-point edge heading into the fourth.

However, behind an impassioned 9-1 run late in the final frame, the Heat managed to cut the Hawks' lead to three points. But Hawks forward Paul Millsap quickly responded with 10 points in the game's final minutes to put away any chance of a comeback.

The Heat were helped to a 10-rebound edge thanks to the Hawks' lack of centers and Whiteside's brilliance. Whiteside also finished with 14 points on 6-of-8 shooting and two blocks. Dwyane Wade chipped in with 22 points in the loss.

For the Hawks, Millsap led the way with 22 points, while point guard Dennis Schroder put up a double-double with 16 points and 10 assists.
