Wizards' Beal, Pierce return, Humphries out Saturday

Tommy Gilligan-USA TODAY Sports

The Washington Wizards will have two of their top shooters back in the lineup on Saturday night when they take on the Detroit Pistons.

Shooting guard Bradley Beal and small forward Paul Pierce will play on Saturday. Beal missed eight games due to a stress reaction in his right leg while Pierced missed two games with a knee injury.

However, the Wizards will still be a man short, as power forward Kris Humphries will sit out due to a hamstring strain.

The Wizards have been stuck in a rut for going on a month, as they are just 2-11 over their past 13 games. It's difficult to pinpoint a singular cause for their woes, but the Wizards' season-long trends - including needlessly benching Marcin Gortat and an out-dated offense - have come to a head.

Beal and Pierce should at least help revive the Wizards' 3-point shooting. The Wizards have connected on just 5.7 3-pointers per game over their past 13 games which ranks 27th overall. Beal and Pierce are shooting 43.6 and 38 percent from deep, respectively.
