Hardwood Highlight of the Night: Transition ball movement leads to Hansbrough jam

John E. Sokolowski / USA TODAY Sports

The Toronto Raptors' prettiest play of the night in a 114-103 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers started on the defensive end, with Tyler Hansbrough tying up and eventually stripping rookie big man Nerlens Noel.

As Noel takes a second to plead his case for a foul with the ref working the baseline, Greivis Vasquez grabs the loose ball and the Raptors begin an advantageous fast break.

Vasquez eventually picks out DeMar DeRozan on the perimeter, who finds a trailing Patrick Patterson.

Once he passes off to Patterson, DeRozan heads toward the right corner. Though he's not a strong 3-point shooter, he still drags a defender with him. At this point, Patterson has some options to work with in transition: he has space to step into a three, he can find an open Vasquez, or he can spot Hansbrough, who's beaten a grieving Noel down the court and is about to cut through the middle.

Patterson chooses Hansbrough, who finishes with authority.
