Nuggets' Arthur suffers knee injury Wednesday

Chris Humphreys / USA TODAY Sports

Denver Nuggets forward Darrell Arthur suffered a knee injury during the first quarter of Wednesday's game against the Phoenix Suns and will not return.

Arthur, who started at power forward, played three minutes before suffering what the team is calling a posterior strain of the right knee, according to the Denver Post's Chris Dempsey.

With Arthur, who's averaged 7.4 points and 3.3 rebounds for the Nuggets, sidelined and Kenneth Faried sitting out, rookie power forward Joffrey Lauvergne should see extra time.

Arthur missed time earlier this season with knee and leg injuries.
