Blake Griffin working out at Clippers facility, status to be updated next week

Jayne Kamin-Oncea / USA TODAY Sports

The Los Angeles Clippers have more than stemmed the tide in the absence of star power forward Blake Griffin, going 4-2 so far without their leading scorer, including a Texas Triangle sweep over the Dallas Mavericks, Houston Rockets and San Antonio Spurs

They'll have to continue churning ahead without him - at least for the duration of their upcoming four-game road trip, which begins in Houston on Wednesday night - but possibly not much longer than that.

Griffin, who underwent elbow surgery earlier in the month to remove a staph infection, had his stitches removed earlier in the week, and has begun working out at the Clippers' practice facility, according to ESPN's Arash Markazi.

Griffin will continue to work out in Los Angeles while the team is on the road, and he'll be re-evaluated and his status will be updated when they return.

Their last game of the trip will be in Minnesota on March 2, and their first game back comes on March 4 against the Portland Trail Blazers
