Nearly 20 years after he made his debut with the Timberwolves fresh out of high school - and almost eight years since Minnesota traded him to the Boston Celtics - Kevin Garnett is set to be in uniform with the team that selected him fifth overall in the 1995 draft.

Garnett will be in the starting lineup for his Timberwolves reunion Wednesday against the Washington Wizards. The ovation Garnett receives when he's introduced promises to be thunderous.

Minnesota hasn't been to the playoffs since 2004 - when Garnett earned MVP honors for powering the team to a franchise-best 58 wins and later the Western Conference finals - but he's expecting Wednesday's crowd to be loudly behind the 12-43 team.

"I'm figuring it to be a great atmosphere, a playoff-type atmosphere and I'm looking forward to it, and just hoping to win the game," he said, according to Steve Aschburner of NBA.com.

The Timberwolves have released an additional 1,000 tickets for the game.

Garnett is the franchise leader in points, rebounds, assists, steals, games and minutes played.
