Lakers' Price expected to miss 6-8 weeks after undergoing elbow surgery

Chris Humphreys-USA TODAY Sports

The Los Angeles Lakers are likely to be without Ronnie Price for the remainder of the season after the point guard underwent right elbow surgery Wednesday to remove bone spurs and chips from his right elbow.

Price is expected to be out six-to-eight weeks, all but ensuring the 31-year-old will watch the remainder of the Lakers' franchise-worst season from the sidelines.

The veteran averaged 5.1 points and 3.8 assists while shooting 34.5 percent from the field in 43 games, 20 of which were starts.

Los Angeles takes a 14-41 record into Wednesday's contest against the Utah Jazz
