Derrick Rose: Has Meniscus Tear, Will Need Surgery

Rose has a medial meniscus tear of the right knee and will need surgery, USA Today's Sam Amick reports.

Analysis:

This is just awful news, as Rose has become the poster child for fragility this decade, and it sounds like his season will be cut short by yet another knee surgery. This is Rose's second medial meniscus tear in his right knee, and he previously tore the ACL in his left knee. It is not clear when Rose will undergo surgery and the team has not yet announced if he will miss the remainder of the season, but that seems extremely likely. Kirk Hinrich and Aaron Brooks will have to shoulder the load at point guard with Rose out.
