Lakers' Young to undergo MRI after experiencing knee swelling

Russ Isabella / USA Today Sports

Nick Young's not so Swaggy season could be headed for more disappointment.

The flamboyant Los Angeles Lakers swingman is undergoing an MRI after his knee swelled up Monday morning, the team announced.

The self-proclaimed Swaggy P - who has dealt with thumb, ankle and foot injuries this season - briefly dealt with right knee soreness in January.

Young has averaged 13.4 points in 42 games off the Lakers' bench, but the 29-year-old has done it on a career-worst Effective Field Goal Percentage of 45.3. Other than some solid three-point shooting (36.9%) and a few laughs here and there, Young has contributed little else to the cause for a 14-41 team.

An update on Young's condition is expected later Monday. The Lakers are off until Wednesday, when they take on the Utah Jazz.
