Warriors' Curry questionable Tuesday with sore foot

Brian Spurlock-USA TODAY Sports

The good news regarding Stephen Curry's absence from the Golden State Warriors' lineup Sunday is that it's a sore foot plaguing the MVP candidate, not an ankle injury.

The bad news is that Curry is questionable for the team's next game on Tuesday.

Curry missed his first game of the season in Sunday's loss to the Indiana Pacers because of the foot injury, a stark reminder of how crucial he is to the league-leading Warriors.

With Curry on the court, 43-10 Golden State outscores opponents by a whopping 17.2 points per 100 possessions. With their starting point guard sitting, the Warriors barely break even, outscoring opponents by a measly 0.4 points per 100 possessions, a mark that would rank a pedestrian 16th.

The Warriors hold a 3.5-game lead on the second-place Memphis Grizzlies in the Western Conference, but they could be in for a rare bad week if Curry can't suit up. Beginning Tuesday in D.C., the Warriors play three games in four nights against the Washington Wizards, Cleveland Cavaliers and Toronto Raptors, teams with combined records of 105-63.
