Gibson out for Bulls Monday night

Dale Zanine-USA TODAY Sports

The flu bug is biting the Chicago Bulls.

With Kirk Hinrich already on the shelf with an illness, word comes power forward Taj Gibson will also miss Monday's game against the Milwaukee Bucks.

Illness is also the listed reason for Gibson, but the night off should be beneficial for him as he admitted Saturday he's been playing with a torn ligament in his left hand for the last four weeks.

"No excuses ... I'm going to put the team first," Gibson told reporters Saturday, adding that the injury won't fully heal this season.

Gibson - a career 48.5 percent shooter - has seen his field goal percentage drop to around 45 percent since Jan. 1. His 6.7 rebounds are third on the team.
