Durant on Reggie Jackson trade: 'He got what he wanted'

Mark D. Smith-USA TODAY Sports

Whispers ran wild for a while that Reggie Jackson had a fractured relationship with the Oklahoma City Thunder and wanted out. It appears his well-known desire to flee the Thunder didn't sit well with some.

And now that he's gone, prominent members of the team appear publicly happy to no longer call him a teammate.

Kevin Durant, who sat out the final minutes of Thursday's win over the Dallas Mavericks with a sore right foot, didn't exactly hold back when asked his thoughts about the deal following the Thunder victory.

"We felt like everybody wanted to be here except for one guy," Durant said, referring to Jackson, according to Royce Young of ESPN.

Jackson had been an important bench piece for the Thunder over the last few seasons and filled in admirably when various injuries to Russell Westbrook created an opportunity for him with the starting unit. But he apparently wanted to consistently have a larger role and he'll now get that with the Detroit Pistons

With Brandon Jennings out for the season and D.J. Augustin moved to the Thunder in the three-team trade, Jackson figures to get as many minutes as he can handle as the Pistons' point guard.
