Report: Knicks reach buyout agreement with Stoudemire
Amar'e Stoudemire and the New York Knicks have reportedly reached a buyout agreement, according to the New York Daily News' Frank Isola.
Isola reports that Stoudemire and the Knicks reached an agreement before Sunday's All-Star Game, citing a league source.
Stoudemire is in the final year of a five-year contract that pays him more than $23 million this season, and would be free to sign with a team of his choice once he clears waivers.
With the Dallas Mavericks and Stoudemire's former team, the Phoenix Suns, already reported as potential landing spots, Isola adds that the San Antonio Spurs and Golden State Warriors could also be in the mix. Yahoo Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski reported that the Los Angeles Clippers also have strong interest in the six-time All-Star.
The Warriors' interest in Stoudemire appears less clear, however, as ESPN's Marc Stein reported that the team isn't in pursuit.
At 32 years old and with a history of knee issues, Stoudemire can't be relied upon for heavy or consistent minutes, but the 13-year veteran can still provide offensive punch and rebounding presence off of the bench.

In 24 minutes per game this season, Stoudemire is averaging 12 points, 6.8 rebounds and an assist on 54 percent shooting.
