Kerr debating between Durant, Aldridge to start All-Star Game

Mark D. Smith-USA TODAY Sports

With Anthony Davis out of action for All-Star weekend, Western Conference All-Star coach Steve Kerr told ESPN Radio on Thursday that he is trying to decide between Kevin Durant and LaMarcus Aldridge to fill 'Brow's starting spot.

The knock on Durant would be he's missed more than half of his Oklahoma City Thunder's games – not that he hasn't performed since his return, to the tune of 25.9 points per contest.

Kerr said, according to ESPN's Marc Stein, he is most looking forward to coaching San Antonio Spurs forward Tim Duncan in the game, which makes one wonder if there's any chance the 18th-year star will get the starting nod. With the possibility at least out there that this may be Duncan's final season in the NBA, he certainly qualifies as a sentimental favorite.

As his playing career was winding down, Kerr was a teammate of Duncan's with the Spurs for four seasons.

Kerr added he is looking forward to having Duncan chase around Carmelo Anthony of the New York Knicks.
