Jimmy Butler: (Shoulder) Won't Play Versus Cavs

Butler (shoulder) will not play Thursday night against the Cavaliers, K.C. Johnson of the Chicago Tribune reports.

Analysis:

After an MRI on Wednesday confirmed Butler has a strained shoulder, he'll be held out of action Thursday, while Tony Snell moves into the starting lineup in his place. Butler is considered questionable to play in Sunday's All-Star Game, but he plans to make the trip to New York, and an update on his status should be available within the next couple of days. The fact that there's a chance Butler plays Sunday is a solid indication that he'll be ready when the Bulls resume play on Feb. 20.
