VIDEO: The Cavs are flying on Wednesday
LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers have come a long way since Christmas, when they lost on the road to the Miami Heat, falling to 17-11 on the season and beginning a downward spiral culminating in a 19-20 record on Jan. 13.
Things have since turned around in a major way, so Wednesday represents a nice measuring point for the suddenly scorching, 32-21 Cavs.
The Cavs came out flying with the Heat in town on Wednesday, putting their foot on the gas early and not easing off in a 38-23 first quarter. The quarter included some serious theatrics, with the entire starting lineup, save for Kyrie Irving, hitting the highlight reel.
First, it was James and Timofey Mozgov working a give-and-go on the fast break. Even though Moz Def didn't dish the greatest of passes, it only served to make the alley-oop highlight even sweeter, with James flying in to finish with one hand:
Later, it was Kevin Love adding to his lengthy list of phenomenal outlet passes, hitting J.R. Smith with a beautiful touchdown lead for an easy two-handed jam:
Over the last 14 games - 13 of them wins for Cleveland - the Cavs offense has produced a ridiculous 113 points per-100 possessions, best in the NBA. There are some examples of why.
The Cavs would stay hot all night, ultimately topping the Heat 113-93.
