Carmelo Anthony: (Knee) Getting Close To Shutting It Down

Anthony (knee) admitted to Newsday after Monday's game that he is getting closer to shutting himself down for the season. "It's little things that I'm doing out there on the court, I'm restricted, or I'm not getting that power or that bounce," he said. "To do something like I did tonight, I'm getting closer to that point."

Analysis:

Reports came out over a month ago that quoted president Phil Jackson saying that Anthony was essentially still only playing this season so that he could play in the Knicks' game in London on Jan. 15 and then the All-Star Game this coming Sunday on Feb. 15. Anthony might play Wednesday against the Magic, and it's a near-certainty that he'll be wearing bells for the All-Star Game, but after that, all bets are off for Anthony's fantasy value this season. If he's on your team, try to trade him before the All-Star Game on Sunday. Otherwise, you might be left holding the empty shell that once was Anthony's fantasy value.
