Michael Jordan misspelled President Obama's name in autograph

Sam Sharpe / USA TODAY Sports

Being the leader of the free world has its share of perks, like getting an autographed Michael Jordan poster for your 50th birthday.

Unfortunately, it doesn't guarantee that His Airness will know how to spell your name.

Former Barack Obama adviser David Axelrod told New York Magazine about how he came into possession of the signed Jordan poster.

"When the president turned 50, I wanted to get him something special … so I sent it to Jordan to have him sign it for me."

In black Sharpie, Jordan scrawled, "To Barrack: you still owe me dinner. Wishing you well, Michael Jordan."

"I gave it to the president, and he said, ‘I can’t put this up, he misspelled my name!’ So I said, ‘Fine, I’ll take it.'"

Obama, of course, spells his first name with only one 'r.'

You had one job, Mike.
