VIDEO: Marc Gasol blocks Markieff Morris' game-winner attempt

Jeff Green is fitting in just fine with the grit-and-grind style of the Memphis Grizzlies. Just ask him.

With the Grizzlies down 101-99 on Monday against the Phoenix Suns, Green made sure his positive feelings with the Grizzlies were mutual. Green corralled an offensive rebound off of a Mike Conley miss, sunk a five-footer and drew the foul, sinking the free throw to give Memphis a 102-101 lead with four seconds to play.

He also surely ingratiated himself to teammate Marc Gasol, who was subsequently able to play the hero. The Suns worked the ball to Markieff Morris for a left-elbow jumper to win it, but Gasol sprinted up from the baseline to block the game-winning attempt, sealing the road victory for the Grizzlies.

Marc Gasol blocks the shot at the buzzer.

That block got Basketball Twitter quite riled up.

And what is the deal with Triple H putting so much stock in the reality era?

With the win, Memphis continues to terrorize the elite teams in the Western Conference and improves to 36-12 overall, only two-and-a-half games back of the Golden State Warriors for the best record in the NBA.

The Suns could ill afford this loss on a night when both the New Orleans Pelicans and Oklahoma City Thunder won, as they now have only a one-game grasp on the final playoff spot, with another team two games behind after that. A one-point home loss with a chance at a buzzer-beater, even against a very good team, could sting come April.
