1994 - Celtics retire McHale's No. 32

Less than a year after his final game, Kevin McHale has his No. 32 jersey raised to the rafters by the Boston Celtics. McHale amassed over 17,000 points, 7,000 rebounds, 1,600 assists and 1,600 blocks over a 13-year, Hall of Fame career with the Celtics.

1996 - Magic returns to The Forum

More than four years after his retirement from basketball due to contracting HIV, Magic Johnson makes a triumphant return to the NBA and the Los Angeles Lakers by pouring in 19 points, 10 assists, eight rebounds and two steals in a 128-118 victory over the Golden State Warriors.

Magic averages 14.6 points, 6.9 assists and 5.7 rebounds in 32 games during his comeback season at age 36. Remarkably, his All-Star caliber PER of 21.1 goes down as the worst since his rookie season 16 years earlier.
