NBA Game Summary - LA Clippers at Utah

Salt Lake City, UT (SportsNetwork.com) - Chris Paul and Jamal Crawford each scored 21 points as the Los Angeles Clippers defeated the Utah Jazz 94-89 on Wednesday night.

Blake Griffin had 17 points and seven rebounds for the Clippers, who have won 13 straight over the Jazz.

Los Angeles, which opened up an eight-game road trip, has won six straight overall.

"We say create your own energy," said Paul of how they were able to build momentum. "Something we always say before the game and stuff like that. It comes from getting consecutive stops."

Enes Kanter paced Utah with 21 points and 11 rebounds, while Derrick Favors contributed 18 points with nine rebounds and Gordon Hayward added 11 points in the loss.

The Jazz were in front by two when Los Angeles went on a 9-2 run that Paul capped with a jumper for a 90-85 lead with 3:06 left in the game.

Griffin was whistled for a technical foul moments later after committing a shooting foul on Kanter and Utah converted two of the three free throws to make it a one-possession game.

Kanter then fouled Griffin hard at the other end, with the latter making both from the line to keep the Clippers ahead.

Matt Barnes came up with a big block of Kanter that ultimately forced the Jazz into a shot-clock violation with under a minute left. Joe Ingles and Trey Burke then both missed 3-pointers in the final seconds as the Clippers held on.

"We had some clean looks. I thought our execution could have been better in a couple of situations," Jazz coach Quin Snyder said of the fourth quarter.

Utah used a 12-2 run early in the first to turn a six-point deficit into a 14-10 game. The Jazz led 26-24 after 12 minutes.

The game remained close in the second with neither team leading by more than six. Ingles tied the score with over a minute left in the first half, and Kanter made 1-of-2 from the line to give Utah a 50-49 lead at the break.
