Minnesota Timberwolves rookie point guard Zach LaVine is heading to Brooklyn next month for the NBA's Slam Dunk contest during All-Star Weekend.
In the second quarter against the Boston Celtics on Wednesday, LaVine sent a message to his soon-to-be competitors, skying to catch a halfcourt alley-oop pass from fellow rookie Andrew Wiggins before slamming it home emphatically.
LaVine finished with 17 points as the Timberwolves snapped a five-game losing streak with a 110-98 win.
