Taj Gibson briefly left game Tuesday with apparent ankle injruy

At this point, Taj Gibson's ankles may be held together with silly string.

The Chicago Bulls sixth man extraordinaire appeared to suffer yet another ankle injury against the Golden State Warriors on Tuesday. Gibson seemed to roll his left ankle in the second quarter and tried to walk it off but ultimately subbed out of the game to be looked at by trainers.

Gibson was able to return in the second half, so Bulls fans can breathe a sigh of relief.

Even a tweak would have been considered troublesome for Gibson and the Bulls. Gibson has a history of ankle issues, spraining his left ankle three times in the past calendar year and spraining his right ankle once. He's still managed to appear in 38 of the team's 47 games but the nagging nature of the left ankle is worrisome.

Entering play Tuesday, Gibson was averaging 11.3 points, 7.1 rebounds and 1.4 blocks while shooting 49.7 percent from the floor, with the Bulls performing slightly better when he takes the floor for one of the starting bigs. Before leaving Tuesday's game, he had scored eight points with eight rebounds in 16 minutes.
