Curry and Wall to take part in shot-for-shot competition at All-Star Practice

Geoff Burke-USA TODAY Sports

While it's unclear if the event is an official part of NBA All-Star Weekend, there will be some semblance of a H-O-R-S-E Competition on Feb. 14.

While the actual H-O-R-S-E event had a short life-span - Kevin Durant won in 2009 and 2010 before it was once again retired - Steph Curry and John Wall will take part in what's being called the Degree Battle of the Game Changers.

The event will take place as part of NBA All-Star Practice on the Saturday of All-Star Weekend, according to a release from Degree. It will see Curry and Wall, starting guards for their respective conference, go shot-for-shot with fans voting on one of the shots, though it's unclear exactly on what they're to evaluate the shots on.

This mostly seems like a marketing vehicle for the deodorant brand, and they've been aggressive and creative in integrating their athlete endorsers in the past. At the very least, it should serve as a low-pressure trial run to see if a more functional version of H-O-R-S-E could ever draw interest at All-Star Weekend.

Spoiler: Probably not.
