Grizzlies' Conley out Tuesday with sprained wrist

Justin Ford-USA TODAY Sports

The Memphis Grizzlies will be without point guard Mike Conley when they take on the Dallas Mavericks on Friday, reports Bryan Gutierrez of Mavs Outsider.

Conley sustained a sprained left wrist on Monday in a win against the Orlando Magic, and it limited him to just 22 minutes played.

Conley's absence leaves a giant hole in the Grizzlies' backcourt. One of Beno Udrih or Nick Calathes will likely step in to start, but neither player comes close to replicating Conley's two-way production.

The Grizzlies are 7.7 points per 100 possessions better with Conley on the floor this season, a mark that tops even All-Star center Marc Gasol (4.5).

Conley is averaging 17.4 points, 5.6 assists and 1.2 steals in 32.1 minutes per game. He is also shooting 41.9 percent from deep and is a dark horse candidate to secure an All-Star reserve berth.
