Knicks sign Galloway for remainder of the season

Bill Streicher-USA TODAY Sports

It's been the kind of season where securing a D-League call-up for the remainder of the season is major news for the New York Knicks.

Yet Langston Galloway has earned it with his Broadway debut, and on Tuesday the Knicks reached a deal to sign Galloway for the remainder of the season, the team announced.

As of Tuesday, the Knicks had exhausted the CBA-required maximum of two 10-day contracts on Galloway, who has averaged 12.1 points, 4.1 rebounds and three assists in eight games since being called up from Westchester.

The terms of Galloway's deal will cover the rest of this season and extend with a partial guarantee for next, according to Marc Berman of the New York Post. A reported hangup in negotiations had involved the Knicks' reluctance to offer any guarantee in 2015-16.

Had a deal not been reached, Galloway would have become a free agent and assuredly would have garnered interest from other teams.
