A massive snow storm expected to wallop the northeast has forced the NBA to alter its schedule.

The league has confirmed that both games scheduled to be played in New York City on Monday night have been postponed.

The game between the Brooklyn Nets and Portland Trail Blazers at Barclays Center has been rescheduled for Monday, April 6 at 7 p.m. ET.

In addition, Monday's game between the New York Knicks and Sacramento Kings at Madison Square Garden has been rescheduled to Tuesday, March 3 at 7 p.m.

Some areas are expected to be hit with as much as 24-36 inches of snow, with thousands of flights already cancelled as New York City braces for what could be one of the worst winter storms in the city's history.
