The New York Knicks aren't exactly going about this tanking thing the right way.

Carmelo Anthony scored 25 points to power the Knicks to their season-high third consecutive victory with a 113-106 win over the Orlando Magic on Friday.

Anthony, who has been playing through knee pain that's likely going to shut him down at some point for surgery, logged 42 minutes, adding seven rebounds and four assists.

The Knicks, who are the worst team in the Eastern Conference, are now only a half game behind the Philadelphia 76ers, who lost by five Friday to the Toronto Raptors

New York had lost a franchise-high 16 consecutive games before a 99-92 win over the New Orleans Pelicans kickstarted what has become the team's hottest stretch of the season. They went on to beat the 76ers before taking down the Magic in front of their home crowd at Madison Square Garden.

Nikola Vucevic led the Magic with a monster 34-point, 18-rebound performance.

Anthony and the Knicks are right back at it Saturday when they visit the Charlotte Hornets, who got destroyed Friday by 39 points against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
