Just over a year ago, Kyle Lowry and the Toronto Raptors appeared willing to part ways. After dealing Rudy Gay to the Sacramento Kings, the Raptors were poised for a rebuild, and the point guard's name was bandied about in trade rumors.
The Raptors ended up holding onto Lowry, catapulting a magical run for both parties.
Since the Gay trade, Toronto is 69-37 (.651) and currently sits in third place in the Eastern Conference. Lowry has been at the center of that success, playing at an All-NBA level. For that, he was rewarded with a 4-year deal in the offseason, and his first-ever All-Star nod Thursday.
With his teammates and family by his side in his home in Philadelphia, a jubilant Lowry used Instagram to thank the Raptors' fanbase.
