Nuggets' Gallinari will be available Friday after knee surgery

Chris Humphreys-USA TODAY Sports

Danilo Gallinari will be available to play on Friday against the Boston Celtics, less than a month after the Denver Nuggets forward underwent surgery to repair a torn right meniscus.

Gallinari last played on Dec. 20 and underwent surgery on the knee on Dec. 24.

The 26-year-old Italian returned this season after missing nearly 18 months with a torn ACL in his left knee that required three surgeries.

Gallinari has struggled to regain his peak form in his first season back, averaging 7.8 points, three rebounds and 1.1 assists in less than 19 minutes per game - by far his worst numbers since his rookie year in 2008-09.

He did enjoy a brief, positive stretch right before his latest injury, however, averaging 15 points on 52 percent shooting over his last three games.
