Warriors win franchise-record 17th consecutive home game in rout of Rockets

Kelley L Cox-USA TODAY Sports

James Harden should think twice the next time he's going to trash talk another team, let alone the league's best.

Days after Harden remarked to his Rockets teammates that the Warriors weren't that good - only to be handed a 25-point loss - Houston was demolished by Golden State once again.

Klay Thompson scored 27 points to lead the Warriors to a 126-113 victory over Houston on Wednesday. The win was the Warriors' franchise-best 17th consecutive at home, and moved Golden State to 19-1 at Oracle Arena - its top mark to start a season in team history.

It was also Golden State's 10th straight home win by 13-plus points, which is the longest such streak in NBA history.

The only game the NBA-best 33-6 Warriors have lost at home this season came on Nov. 11 to the San Antonio Spurs

Golden State recorded its NBA-leading 26th double-digit victory of the season, four of which have come against the Rockets. The Warriors swept their season series with Houston for the first time since 1973-74.

Date Score
Nov. 8 98-87
Dec. 10 105-93
Jan. 17 131-106
Jan. 21 126-113

A 30-point second quarter blew the game open, and Golden State followed it up by scoring 40 in the third. Houston trimmed the lead in the fourth quarter, but it was a lopsided affair that saw the Warriors lead by as many as 30 points.

Stephen Curry added 22 points and 10 assists in the victory.

Harden at least did his part for the Rockets, scoring a game-high 33 points with six assists and four rebounds.

Rockets forward Josh Smith was ejected in the third quarter after picking up his second technical foul.
