Wale talking to Kanye about designing new Wizards uniforms

Move over, Drake, there's a new cultural ambassador in the Eastern Conference.

D.C.-area rapper Wale has been hired by the Washington Wizards to be a creative liaison, a role geared toward making the Wizards a more fun brand and, hopefully, improving attendance in the process.

In an ESPN The Magazine article that will hit stands Feb. 2, Wale discussed his new role. The best part? He's reached out to Kanye West for help in designing new Wizards uniforms. From the article:

I want to be a shot in the arm to DC basketball. My job is to provide a spark, at all costs. I'm not going to do anything corny, but I'm talking to Kanye about designing new uniforms. I want to see the phone booth rocking every time I come here. I want to create the "Lake Show," create what the Bulls had. I want to take the personality of our stars - John, Otto, Marcin - and create what Kemp and Payton had, what LeBron and D-Wade had. That's the vibe I want.

Based on Kanye's attire choices, the Wizards' next alternate promises to be quite garish. Maybe standing out like that will be enough to help lure Kevin Durant back home in 2016. At the very least, it could help improve the percentage of capacity used at the Verizon Center, an attendance statistic the Wizards currently rank 25th in.
