Jrue Holiday: (Ankle) Has Stress Reaction, Likely Out 2-4 Weeks

Holiday (ankle) is likely to miss the next 2-to-4 weeks after tests revealed a stress reaction in his right lower-leg, Jen Hale of Fox Sports reports.

Analysis:

Holiday has been battling inflammation in his right ankle, and it appears Wednesday's tests have revealed the source of the issue. Holiday, who missed much of last season with a stress fracture in his right tibia, has missed the last four games and will likely remain out until near or after the All-Star break. It's a tough blow for a Pelicans team that's short on guards after annexing Austin Rivers. Tyreke Evans figures to hold onto the starting point guard role for the foreseeable future, meaning Dante Cunningham will likely remain in the lineup at small forward. Nate Wolters, who signed a 10-day deal last week, could also see increased minutes. It also wouldn't be a surprise if the Pelicans, who are within striking distance of a playoff spot, look to add another point guard via free agency or trade.
