Hawks fly past Nets, equal last season's win total

Jason Getz-USA TODAY Sports

To give you an idea of the kind of run the Atlanta Hawks are on, their 113-102 win over the Brooklyn Nets on Wednesday was their 38th victory of the season, equaling their win total from all of last season.

The 2013-14 Hawks went 38-44, finished eighth in the East and were knocked out of the playoffs in a hard-fought, first-round, seven-game series with the Indiana Pacers

With Wednesday's win, the Hawks hold top spot in the East by seven games.

Paul Millsap led the way with 28 points and 15 rebounds, while frontcourt partner Al Horford also double-doubled with 20 and 10. Kyle Korver added five treys, finishing with 17 points.

Wins are becoming commonplace for Atlanta. The Hawks keep adding to their franchise-record winning streak, now at 17 games. They're now 33-3 since Nov. 18, after starting the season 5-5.

The team's Twitter feed may be the only part of the organization feeling challenged right now, as they try to fit in another 'W' with each new victory.
