Martin, Pekovic could return to Wolves as early as Wednesday

The injured duo of Minnesota Timberwolves shooting guard Kevin Martin and center Nikola Pekovic is getting closer to a return. 

Wolves coach Flip Saunders said Monday night that both might be back this week, possibly on Wednesday at home against the Dallas Mavericks.

"I'm going to have to play with some soreness for some time. One or two more practices," Martin told Jerry Zgoda of the Minneapolis Star Tribune.

Martin has missed 31 games with a fractured shooting wrist, while Pekovic has also missed 31 games with ankle and wrist injuries.

Point guard Ricky Rubio (ankle) remains the furthest off from a return, according to Saunders.
