Pelicans' Holiday to miss 3rd straight game with ankle inflammation

The shorthanded New Orleans Pelicans will have their hands full Sunday against the Atlantic Division-leading Toronto Raptors

Point guard Jrue Holiday will miss his third consecutive game, while power forward Anthony Davis is set to sit out his second straight contest. Holiday has been suffering from right ankle inflammation.

The Pelicans were also without the duo Friday and got pummeled by 15 points by the Philadelphia 76ers

"They're both two-way players, so you take those guys away, it's pretty much 40 percent of your production on the floor," Pelicans head coach Monty Williams said about missing the pair, according to NBA.com's Jim Eichenhofer. "So we have to make up for that with tough, hard-nosed play. We've got to play hard every possession. We have to know the scouting report, know personnel. We've got to stay together no matter what happens out there."

Tyreke Evans has slid over to man point with Holiday out and has struggled taking care of the ball, averaging 4.5 turnovers over the two contests.

Holiday is averaging 15.2 points, 7.1 assists, 3.5 rebounds and 1.6 steals in 37 games.
