NBA commish Silver: Nothing imminent in Nets sale; Prokhorov listening to offers

Anthony Gruppuso / USA Today Sports

Who wants to buy an overpriced, taxed-out, money-bleeding, altogether lousy NBA team?

Unfortunately, we may not be finding out as soon as we thought.

While the Brooklyn Nets do indeed appear to be on the market, majority owner Mikhail Prokhorov is said to be biding his time while listening to offers.

In his press conference before the New York Knicks and Milwaukee Bucks tipped off in London on Thursday, NBA commissioner Adam Silver said Prokhorov has told the league there's nothing imminent regarding the sale of the franchise, as reported by Peter Botte of the New York Daily News.

On Wednesday, Bloomberg News reported that Prokhorov had hired investment banking firm Evercore Partners to explore selling the Nets.
