Dwight Howard calls Magic's Payton: 'The guy with the crazy hair'

Dwight Howard and the Houston Rockets were stunned by the young Magic in Howard's latest return to Orlando, as Victor Oladipo scored a game-high 32 points while Nikola Vucevic poured in 25 points and 12 rebounds.

If you ask Howard, though, rookie point guard Elfrid Payton helped change the game for the Magic. Unfortunately, Howard was at a loss when it came to remembering Payton's name.

"I just think it started with their point guard ... the guy with the crazy hair," Howard said after the loss, as reported by Magic Daily's Carson Ingle.

"The guy with the crazy hair" finished with 15 points, six rebounds, four assists and two steals in the 120-113 win, Orlando's second straight after beating the Chicago Bulls on Monday.

Payton is averaging 6.8 points, 5.3 assists, 3.6 rebounds and 1.4 steals for the 15-27 Magic, who have moved within 2.5 games of a playoff spot in the comical Eastern Conference.

Payton has struggled mightily with his shooting, as expected, but he's shown some encouraging signs as a play maker and a defender on the perimeter. The next step in his development will be ensuring All-NBA players learn his name.
