Andrew Bogut sent home sick, questionable Tuesday

Bruce Kluckhohn-USA TODAY Sports

Just as Andrew Bogut was finding his footing after a 12-game absence due to knee issues, the injury gods are mocking him once again.

The Golden State Warriors center was sent back to the team's hotel during practice due to an illness, and he's being called questionable to play Tuesday against the Utah Jazz.

Bogut has come off the bench in his first two games back, scoring eight points with eight rebounds in a combined 34 minutes. He is likely to return to the starting lineup soon, but expect Mo Speights to draw the start once again if Bogut is under the weather.

Mo Gotti has played well, averaging 12.6 points and 5.2 rebounds in only 18.4 minutes of action on the season, but the Warriors miss Bogut's defense, even if their 29-5 record suggests they miss nobody and nothing. The Australian is the team's defensive anchor and top rim protector, and they have been 12.3 points per 100 possessions better overall with him on the floor this season.

In 22 games, the former No. 1 pick is averaging 6.8 points, nine rebounds, 2.8 assists and two blocks in 24.5 minutes.
