Pondexter was averaging 18 minutes per game in Memphis and he may struggle to keep it that high when he starts his tenure in New Orleans. Eric Gordon and Tyreke Evans have the starting spots on lock at the two and three, so Pondexter will be fighting for playing time with the likes of John Salmons, Jimmer Fredette, Dante Cunningham, and Luke Babbitt. The number of options for the Pelicans around Pondexter's playing style will likely smother his ability to see significant minutes on the court moving forward.
