Nets rest Garnett Friday vs. 76ers

The Brooklyn Nets will rest Kevin Garnett for the second time in three games Friday against the Philadelphia 76ers, the team announced.
The Nets have sat Garnett on the second night of back-to-backs before, but this is a rare instance where the team will rest him on the first night. The Nets are in Detroit to take on the surging Pistons on Saturday.
Garnett, 38, is averaging 7.6 points, 7.6 rebounds, 1.8 assists and one steal in 29 games for the 16-19 Nets, who sit seventh in the Eastern Conference.
