Zach Randolph: (Knee) A No-Go At Shootaround On Wednesday, Considered Questionable

Randolph (knee) did not take part in shootaround and is considered questionable for Wednesday's game versus the Hawks, Grizzlies' sideline reporter Rob Fischer reports.

Analysis:

Though he participated in parts of Tuesday's contact practice, it appears there's a decent chance Randolph misses his ninth straight game on Wednesday versus the Hawks. The Grizzlies have gone 4-4 during Z-Bo's absence, but with a 25-9 record and championship aspirations, coach Dave Joerger is highly unlikely to bring Zach back until he's 100 percent healthy. Jon Leuer, Kosta Koufos and Jarnell Stokes have each started at least one game during Randolph's absence, with Stokes' lone start coming in their most recent game versus the Knicks on Monday. Though Joerger said he started Stokes versus the Knicks in order to help Leuer get used to coming off the bench once again with Randolph set to return soon, Leuer might be the most likely candidate to start opposite Paul Millsap on Wednesday, as Stokes and Koufos are less comfortable defending players who can play as far away from the basket as Millsap can. Regardless of who starts in Randolph's place if he does indeed sit, Z-Bo appears set to return somewhat soon.
