Deron Williams, Brook Lopez to come off Nets' bench Friday

With the way the Brooklyn Nets have been playing with a new-look starting unit, it's not surprising that head coach Lionel Hollins is electing to keep a pair of the team's high-prized stars coming off the bench.

Both Deron Williams and Brook Lopez will be held out of the starting lineup for Friday's game against the Orlando Magic

Williams has come off the bench for the team's last four games after missing two contests with a calf injury. The Nets have played their best basketball of the season over that six-game stretch, going 5-1 to jump into the No. 7 seed in the Eastern Conference.

Lopez missed eight games before returning and finding himself out of a starting role. He came off the bench for four straight contests and then started the Nets' last game - a 96-82 victory over the Chicago Bulls - after Kevin Garnett received a night off to rest. Lopez scored a season-high 29 points and started alongside fellow big Mason Plumlee for the first time ever, but will find himself back on the bench for Friday's game.

Hollins had suggested earlier in the week that he didn't want to break up a good thing, and it appears he's sticking to his word.

Jarrett Jack will draw another start at point, which will be his seventh consecutive. Jack's thrived as a starter, averaging 18 points on 51.9 percent shooting from the field, 5.3 assists and 3.8 rebounds.
