VIDEO: Eric Bledsoe's late Assist of the Year candidate

Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

We have no idea how, but this actually happened.

In the second quarter of Wednesday's game against the Oklahoma City Thunder, Phoenix Suns guard Eric Bledsoe made a last-minute submission for Assist of the Year consideration. It's got a really strong case.

Bledsoe drives the lane only to be met with the help defense of Steven Adams. With no option on the strong side and center Alex Len sealed off down low, Bledsoe is mostly out of options. He rises for the layup attempt and again meets Adams, employing the principle of verticality, and so he spins and throws a ridiculous pass ... right into the hands of P.J. Tucker for an open three.

How he saw him, how he got the pass off, all of it is unbelievable.
