Al Horford probable for Friday after being late scratch Tuesday

Jason Getz-USA TODAY Sports

The illness that made Al Horford a late scratch for the Atlanta Hawks on Tuesday is not expected to linger.

The team is already calling Horford probable for Friday's game against the Utah Jazz. Horford had been expected to play Tuesday but was removed from the starting lineup at the last minute. The team then ruled him out for the game during the first half, opting not to have him play through the illness.

The Hawks hung tough without their center Tuesday, topping a shorthanded Cleveland Cavaliers outfit with Pero Antic starting at the five. Antic scored four points in 24 minutes, and Mike Scott saw additional run off the bench, dropping 12 points in 24 minutes.

In 30 games, Horford is averaging 14.6 points, 6.5 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.5 blocks in 30 minutes, shooting 53.4 percent from the floor and providing the team with their best interior scoring option.
