Mavs' Chandler questionable for Tuesday due to back spasms

Tyson Chandler's back spasms are feeling better, but the Dallas Mavericks' center will be listed as questionable for Tuesday's game against the Washington Wizards, according to head coach Rick Carlisle.

Chandler sat out of Sunday's victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder after suiting up for Dallas' first 31 games of the season. The Mavs are a talented team loaded at every position in the wake of acquiring Rajon Rondo, but trading for Rondo also robbed the team of their frontcourt depth and they can't afford to be without Chandler for long stretches.

The 32-year-old is enjoying his best season in years - and one of the best of his 14-year career - averaging 11.1 points, 11.9 boards and 1.4 blocks per game. His PER of 22.2, True Shooting Percentage of 71.3 and rebound rate of 22.1 percent all represent career-highs.

The Mavericks perform 3.9 points per 100 possessions better with Chandler on the court than they do when the big man's on the bench, according to NBA.com.
