Report: Rockets waive Tarik Black to make room for Josh Smith

The Houston Rockets needed to open up a roster spot for newly obtained Dwight Howard buddy Josh Smith, and so Friday they waived power forward Tarik Black, according to Yahoo Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski.
Black played well in Howard's absence earlier this season. The 6-foot-11, 257-pound Kansas alum was averaging 4.2 points and 5.3 boards in 15.7 minutes. Wojnarowski reports there are several teams interested in signing him.
