Report: Timberwolves trade Brewer to Rockets

Brace Hemmelgarn-USA TODAY Sports

Corey Brewer has been on the Minnesota Timberwolves' trade block, and on Friday he was reportedly dealt to the Houston Rockets

According to Yahoo's Adrian Wojnarowski, Brewer and injured center Ronny Turiaf are going to Houston for guard Troy Daniels and two future second-round picks, one of which comes via the Sacramento Kings.

Wojnarowski reported that Turiaf, however, could be moved to a third team. The French center only played in two games for the Wolves this season and recently had season-ending hip surgery.

Seven-year NBA veteran Brewer was averaging 10.5 points, 3.9 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game for a young Minnesota team. The defensive specialist is expected to play behind started Trevor Ariza for the Rockets.

To make the trade, Rockets general manager Daryl Morey used the team's trade exception from the Jeremy Lin deal. It had been widely reported the Rockets wanted to make the trade by Friday, which marks 60 days until the NBA trade deadline.

This way, the deal is completed with the league's reaggregation window and Brewer could theoretically be moved again this season.
