Nuggets' Foye still not close to return from quad tear

When Randy Foye hit the sidelines due to a small tear in his right quadriceps, it didn't sound as if the Denver Nuggets were expecting him out this long.

Foye's injury came with a three-week timeline, which is now in the rear-view mirror without a return imminent. He isn't even running yet, let alone getting actual practices in, and his return date is open-ended.

"At first they said three weeks," Foye said Wednesday. "But when they said that, it was more three weeks of just not doing anything, just rehabbing and getting stronger."

Foye was unwilling to put a date on a possible return, saying only that he's doing the requisite work, day by day. He's missed 12 games so far, opening up an opportunity for rookie Gary Harris, who has appeared in 10 of those after playing just twice while Foye was healthy.

In 11 games before getting sidelined, Foye was averaging 8.4 points and two assists in 19 minutes, shooting a woeful 37.5 percent from the floor. Because most of his attempts come from long range, where he's hitting at a 34.7 percent clip, that's really not as bad as it seems.
